Privacy
The short version
The current Web version of Remember This Hat! runs locally in your browser.
You do not need an account, and the contents of your folders, decks, and cards are not sent to a Remember This Hat! server.
What is stored in your browser
The following data may be stored locally:
- folders;
- decks;
- cards;
- review progress;
- app settings.
This data remains in browser storage on your device.
Clearing site data, deleting a browser profile, a device failure, and some other actions may cause it to be lost. We therefore recommend saving backups of important libraries from time to time.
Backups
A backup is created only when you ask the app to create one.
The backup file is saved wherever you choose to save it. Remember This Hat! does not upload these files to its own cloud.
If you place a backup in Google Drive, Dropbox, or another third-party service yourself, that service’s privacy rules apply to its storage.
Accounts, analytics, and advertising
At the current stage:
- there are no Remember This Hat! accounts;
- there is no first-party cloud synchronization;
- there are no advertising systems;
- the website uses Google Analytics to collect aggregated statistics about visits and app usage.
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may process technical information about your device and visit.
For details, see the Google Privacy Policy.
If accounts, cloud synchronization, or other features that affect data processing are introduced in the future, this page will be updated.
Server and technical logs
The website itself is hosted on a standard web server.
As with most websites, the server or hosting infrastructure may automatically retain standard technical request records, such as an IP address, request time, URL, response code, and browser information.
These technical records do not contain the contents of your cards.
Third-party websites
The website may contain links to third-party services, such as Buy Me a Coffee.
Once you follow an external link, that website’s own privacy rules apply.
Changes
This policy may change as Remember This Hat! develops, especially if cloud synchronization, user accounts, or other server-side features are introduced.
